A CASE FOR THE SUMMER FUR

Garishly cheerful furs are. my. thing. The more out of place in a sad, wintery context, the better. While I wouldn't necessarily turn down more modest fur, say in a neutral, the loud ones really speak to me. Take for example my other faux fur coat. It's a white, with embroidered radishes and we love her. This chat, however, is about my latest acquisition.

I have been hunting for a deal on a Shrimps coat for ages, and for some reason, I really got methodical in my hunt this spring. I guess the thought process was that furs are going to be cheaper while every one is shopping for flip flops and shorts. But in reality, I saw someone else score a deal and thought, "why not me?"

All I can say is that the time spent checking eBay, Poshmark, The Real Real, etc. paid off! This Shrimps beaut arrived just in time for me to start packing away my winter clothes. 😂 Low and behold, though!! One day it's 70 degrees, the next it's 100% chance of snow. The coat looked right at home against the snow covered spring yard!

Olive green with a huge flower taking over the back. Are you kidding? It's perfect.

Ganni cowgirl boots.

On the theme of flowers....

The day before the snow, we cut most of our remaining tulips (we planted 250 bulbs last year!!) and waited to see if the weather woman was right. SHE WAS. Here are some of said tulips in action in the vase my brother got when he lived in Amsterdam. IT'S THREE SEPERATE SECTIONS! You fill each with water and stack.

Yes, we did make two tulip towers!
